Charge the Fire Extinguishers, Boys - It's Gametime at USC!

So it’s Thanksgiving and I’m experiencing the unholy trinity – in-laws, Gamecock fans, and a holiday under one roof. Actually, spending time with your Gamecock family is entirely tolerable, so long as it’s not game day or the one year in five when USC wins. Gamecocks also are mouthier during Thanksgiving than Christmas, for obvious reasons.

White Meat for Thanksgiving

I had a double-top-secret-agent at Clemson’s team devotional Friday night before the N.C. State game. They made my double-top-secret-agent’s family feel warmly welcomed. Later, C.J., Jacoby, and the team loaded them up with signed memorabilia.

Littering isn't the only way to make an Indian Cry

Last blog I predicted that Clemson “will beat FSU like a rented mule.” Oh, my prophetic soul. Littering isn’t the only way to make the Indian cry -- you can also score three unanswered touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

We Will Beat FSU like a Rented Mule

Because we are physically superior, intellectually superior, and morally superior. And Clemson’s coach has a cool name. Scoreboard.

Miami Road Trip Report

The stars aligned so that Jesse Z., David G., and I could make the road trip to Miami for the Clemson game in Landshark Stadium. A golf clap in honor of wives making this happen; you're the best. Weather: I can see why some say that Clemson beat Nebraska in the 1982 Orange Bowl because the Tigers could better withstand the heat.

Pre-Miami Round-up

“We won, thank the Lord,” said my cousin Geer after the Wake Forest game. I will say AMEN! and thereby also break the praying-for-Clemson-football-wins taboo. Had we lost to Wake, we would have been 2-4 with a looming road trip to Miami. Thank the Lord, indeed. Today I would like to hit several different topics. I think you’ll find at least one of them very interesting.

To Fix Clemson's Offense

  • Q: What does Kyle Parker do if he goes to take a mid-term exam, needs to make an “A”, and feels some pressure?
  • A: Rolls right and throws 60 yards down field.

What Happened to all the Offensive Talent?

I know that all Clemson fans are just as frustrated with our offense as I am. I have heard 500 suggestions to fix our scoring woes, and I won't pretend that I have all the answers, but a lot of my frustration comes from the plethora of alleged talent that we have on offense. Let's take a stroll through the depth chart and think of signing days past.

Almost Winning in Compelling New Ways

I would like to say that never in my wildest dreams would I have thought we would be 2-3, but that’s just plain disingenuous. Clemson football will deliver the same results as long as we lose close games. For the record, we have lost three games in 2009 by ten total points.

What I Heard in Church Tonight

Can we agree that men can’t worship at church until we get the football talk off our chests? Should we feel guilty, or more importantly, are we guilty, in the mind of God and harping wives? This spot on our souls notwithstanding, I will faithfully relate to you the upshot of tonight’s Clemson football talk at a Presbyterian church in Greenville, SC.

Spiller is NFL Fabulous, and I Don't Care

C.J. Spiller is potentially making the jump to football murkiness and financial delight, says a Clemson Tiger Nation contributor. Our contributor argues why we may have already seen the best years of Spiller’s, or any other college football player’s, career.

James Davis, We hardly knew Ye

I have never been to more than four Clemson games in a row. This year I went to the first seven games through a confluence of curious circumstances. Clemson performed abysmally in those games, also through a confluence of curious circumstances. Note to self: never go to seven games in a row again when my team is performing abysmally.
